At long last Wonder Woman, Princess Diana of Themyscira, and Diana Prince finally gets her well deserved live action movie this summer. We received a quick look at her on the big screen in Warner Bros' DC, Comics "Batman v Superman, Dawn of Justice", but there have been many versions of this ionic character that we've come to know and Love.
Wonder Woman First appeared in All Star Comics #8 in October 1941, then leaped off the pages into a live action TV movie with (Cathy Lee Crosby in 1974). Then along came Lynda Carter in 1975-1979 in a live action tv series. Lynda Carter was Wonder Woman for a lot of us. She was my girlfriend in my head. Then in 2011, Adrianne Palicki twirled the golden lasso of truth.
Not counting the number of animated depictions of this iconic woman of power, this new adaptation of Wonder Woman - that will thrill and excite fans in her upcoming solo movie - will clearly illustrate her origin story and demonstrate her ability to fight and hold her own, while also allowing fans to get a better understanding of all of her magnificent weapons, from her magic tiara, which functions as a deadly boomerang, her unbreakable bracelets, the sword of Athena and her shield.
I cannot wait until the new movie comes out in theaters for the next generation of young women to fall in love with this new take on an old character. Of course Jordan and I already have our tickets. Return back to our blog to see our comments on the movie once it debuts.
